Everything is in the link. They own 93% of the land, and are trying to pass a bill which forbids the Arabs living in Israel who are not doing terrorist activities from leasing land. What kind of a democracy is that??

Actually the website is incorrect.

The land owned by the Israeli land authority which is about 80% of the land is still open to all citizens.

The other 13% owned by the JNF (Jewish national fund) a pre-goverment orginizaiton is the subject of debate.

Before the land was open to all citizens, recently legislation has been past to restrict it only to Jews.

Their has been a lot of public outcry over this bill and many people are unhappy about it. Hopefully their will be some compermise and the bill will be recinded, but it is not as bad as you are making it out to be.

Israel - like the USA - is built on land annexed from its historic owners. I have not noticed conspicuous efforts in the USA to restore all of the lands to the native peoples.

If you think that is bad, what about the Arab countries that won't let Palestinians lease or buy land and have kept them locked up in refugee camps for 60 years?

Israel?... oh, you mean all those (mostly) Jewish people that claim to own that huge chunk of Palestine. I'd say they aren't much of a democracy, as they can't even get along with those who they were thrust upon. Allah knows best.

Democracy is often just as totalitarian as bad monarchy--sometimes more so. The difference is, it takes a lot longer to change it.

Maybe because Israel doesn't know what else to do to live in peace... Maybe you are forgetting Israel wants to live in peace and arabs just want to destroy the jewish State...

Some forms of democracy are like Islam. They say one thing and then do what they want.
