If your desires change then the desire can easily change in the opposite direction.

Anyone who follows their desires have in fact taken their desires as a GOD.

Those who do not have a comprehensive divine law to follow can also slip into this trap.

Obeying the laws of GOD in all our actions is a way of submitting our will to GOD and his laws and not to what our desires want.

It is not wrong to desire to do God's will. But if you desire it just to make yourself 'holier than thou', then it would be hypocrisy. Peace.

So what? Haven't you heard that goodness should be it's own reward? So by following God's will, you are hoping to get into heaven right? Isn't that a desire?

People should be good because it is the right thing to do; not because they are afraid of going to hell or because they want to get into heaven.

I don't believe that I am a good person. I don't believe that I can become a good person. Jesus was a good person, and God is good. If I do anything good, then it was Him that spurred me on to do it.

My desire is to follow after Christ. I don't do that by doing what I think is good, I do it by trusting Him. He promised that if I trust Him, then His Spirit will affect me to do the things that He would have me do.

So it is not by my 'making up' what I think God would have me do, but His guidance is going to be there if I trust Him. That's the part of 'the Relationship' that non believers won't understand. God is real, His Spirit was promised to guide us and comfort us, as Jesus did promise. And I believe Him and He does it.

yes. All kind of desires, good and bad both close the path towards the realisation of truth.
No one can realise truth through intelligence.
Intelligence is a part of mind.
Laws of god should be the laws of nature.

well that's what the christian god wants you to do. he wants you to do everything for him and in his name.
but if you don't believe in god and you just want to be a 'good person' then i guess that's wanting respect from everyone else.
