When I was 14 yrs. old, I was with my younger brothers at a lake. Our dad was giving us swimming lessons. Finally, dad decided to get his Fly rod from the car and fish down at the other end of the lake. My brothers and I had not learned how to swim. We'd not had much instruction and dad wasn't a good teacher. I had a beach ball that I clutched to my chest as I paddled out into the deep water.....my brothers cautioned me to come back. I then realized I was too far out, and I tightened my grip on the slippery ball against my chest, causing it pop out of my grasp. I began drowning, I heard my brothers screaming for dad.... I couldn't stay afloat, but I prayed and ask God to save me, He must have heard me; I began to swim, still floundering but enough to keep my head above water. I swam to safety and crawled to the shore edge. My dad rushed up and knelt down beside me, to pump water from me but I refused. I lay there for a long while, until my body stopped trembling. All the time, my mind was racing.......God had heard my cry out in the water and enabled me to swim enough to save myself from drowning. Ever since then I have been communicating with God on a regular basis. If you are sincere from deep within your heart, in wanting to know God, you won't be disappointed. He'll always be there for you and with you. He has always exceeded my expectations.
