You can't look through a catalog. You have to try on gowns. They often don't look the same on you as they do on the size 0 model, and often dresses that you rule out initially are the ones you should wear. Try on as many gowns as possible to figure out what style you like--strapless, halter, simplistic, embellished, antique, timeless, modern?
You just simply can't get that from a catalog.
Then run to walmart and buy Modern Bride, Brides, and perhaps one of the others there (marthas weddings). Subscribe to those 2 and if you have a year before the wedding, you'll be able to get the issue on cakes, flowers, centerpieces, dresses, and order all the free catalogs for invites from the ads.
