what percentage would end up in hell? I would say over 80%. Jesus said do your best to go through the narrow gate as the road to life is hard and only a few be there that find it. Jesus said do not go through the wide gate becasue that leads to distruction and many people will travell it. I belive if the book was closed on the world I belive over 80% will end up in the deep dark firey pit. I am glad I am saved becasue I have had drams and visions given to me by Jesus himself about my salvation. I have a relationship wiht him, I repent everytime I muck up. I love Jesus more than anything, I do not conform myself to this world thank goodness, I do not drink anymore and have given up most yes most of my sins. I still battle a bit with swearing but I am working on it with God's help. But I do repent when I do so if I was to die tonight I am sure of my salvation becasue of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. I don ot go out to pubs or clubs anymore, I would rather stay home and spend time with

Jesus. I live by myself> I have prayer ministry every 1-2 weeks and talk things out with the church there. So if you were to die tonight how do you know that your going to Heaven? Do you foricate(sleep with your partner without being married) get drunk, take drugs, perve, read porn? If you have said yes then you will not be going to Heaven if you die tonight, unless you repent. So tell me how do you know you are saved, and do not say Oh becasue I belive in Jesus, because satan believes and is going to the lake of fire, his fate is sealed.

Well, I hope that you make it, I know that I will. I was impressed by what you wrote, until you got to the bragging part. Did you know that you bragged? It's like you didn't even know that you were talking about your ability to sin less. As if you convinced yourself that you are not so bad any more.
You lost humility. Then I had to read it. Ouch! / :
I know that I am saved by Grace through faith. Just as the Lamb of God made a covering for sin so that I would not have to face God wearing filthy rags. I am covered by His blood, thanks be to God! Not of works, lest any man should boast.
But I would agree with you, there are so many more people who will not be saved than there are being saved.

It is my practice and responsibility to read the Monastic Diurnal (Divine Office) daily as well as to spend much of my time in prayer for various intentions etc. The last prayer that I say before going to bed at night, recalls my sins of the day which I write down, on paper, in a book starting with "I accuse myself of..."Charity-not thinking of others before myself." for example etc.
But for balance, I also keep a Book of Beauty, the wonderful things I see and hear around me each day that remind me that Jesus is here with me.
I beg forgiveness for my sins of the day and go to sleep. God's will be done.
Benedicite,
J.

i did want to mention that you cannot have a dark firey pit because if you have fire you have light.
and if you are a christian and you are trying to point out that many will go to hell you have something backwards, thats not what you should want for others. you could have easily asked how many would end up in heaven. is the glass half full or half empty? try thinking positively =)

Wow...i feel sorry for people who fell the need to beat themselves up every time they say a bad word. and anyways--the reason somebody would go to heaven is because they accept christ as their savior. satan knows he exists, but he doesn't accept him as his savior (you said something about satan knowing about jesus but still going to hell in an additional comment) therefore he is in hell. and most christians don't really believe in god. they've either been brainwashed into believing in him or have been scared in believing in him through hell. ask yourself this: if hell didn't exist, but god and jesus still did, would you waste your time worshipping and believing in them? i doubt it. if there was no consequence, you'd do what you want. so you are living out of fear, like all the others. christians had to make their belief tempting, so they made up heaven. but when they realized people still wouldn't believe in this, they made up a consequence--hell. they're trying to scare the masses into their beliefs, and for whatever reason it's working (2 billion people in this world claim to be christians.)
ps--people who think a god would actually waste his time talking to them are considered crazy.
you putting a 'thumbs down' on my answer means i have upset you, because i've challenged your faith. so by doing that you have actually empowered me. thank you. email me when you're not too scared to get into a real debate.

I know I am going to heaven because I am not trusting in my own works. I'm trusting in Jesus Christ's finished work on the Cross. Peace.

There is no deep, fiery pit. Hell is just the common grave of all mankind and in Revelation it says Hell will be emptied of all the dead in it. Right now, more than 99% would not make it.

I don't know what percentage would go to hell. A person's salvation is between themselves and the Lord.

I have no plan of going anywhere after I die....
I'm just gonna lay there in my coffin and turn to dust...finally some peace and quiet :)
Its not as exiting as a glowing heaven or a fiery hell concept but it gets me by.
Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"
Priest: "No, not if you did not know."
Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?"

I see. Atheists were beating you up too bad lately, so you decided to start condemning you fellow Christians instead.
The whole reason I post on this forum is to play referee because of Christians like you.
