No, actually, they are more likely to say believe in Jesus and ignore the rest. However, it is true that they quote Jesus as saying the law can be summarized as "Love God" and "Love your neighbor and yourself." So Love is the Law.
But it was Aleister Crowley who said that.
Some Christians may in fact believe that they have a monopoly on Love, but it does not seem to be a common theme.

Christians try to claim at least three monopolies:
1. truth
2. love
3. origin of morality
On all three they are total non starters.
On 1 it is so easy to prove the bible wrong, inaccurate and even self contradictory that it is not even worth reproducing here - there are just so many sites devoted to it.
On 2, it is so clear that Christianity is principally a religion of hate. Of course Christians practice and preach love of each other - that is not spiritual its just obvious. However, they hate Muslims, gays, the poor, (historically at least) blacks etc etc. They have justified this hate using the bible, and even have politically correct words to disguise it - like "love the sinner hate the sin" - but make no mistake, this is insidious hatred.
And on 3, thankfully our modern morality is based on the works of humanists of the 18th and 19th century who were basically working against the violations against human rights of the state and church. Only three of the ten commandments - for instance - are now part of law, and no legislature would countenance murder, theft or lying. Well maybe Bush would - he murdered more people on death row than any other governer. OH, and he did it in the name of Christ.

As a Christian, I certainly don't have a monopoly on love. God is love, so I'd say He has the monopoly since He is the only One who loves properly all the time. Peace.

I think even the Beatles said "All you need is love"
I don't think it's just a Christian thing. Most genuine people believe a love generally goes a lot further than hate.
