Eh? Kicks in Arnis? I think you might mean something else as arnis or eskrima is basically a sword/stick fighting art. Any kicks will mostly be incidental or learned from another art like Sikaran or TKD and incorporated into one's arnis techniques and not really a part of arnis training.

Edit: @gumbledim: I'm well aware of the empty hand training at advanced level, but these are more focused on going up against a knife, sword or stick in the event of being disarmed or caught empty handed, not offensive empty hand techniques independent of the sword/stick/knife fighting aspect of the art. I've trained in Dekiti Tirsia Serradas Kali under Maestro Nene Tortal and have watched Grandmaster Cacoy Canete of the Doce Pares Eskrima System in action countless times in Cebu back in college during the 80s. And except for those in Sikaran(a pure foot fighting FMA) and YawYan(short for "Sayaw Kamatayan" or "D3ath Dance")which are not forms of Arnis or Kali, but entirely different styles of Filipino martial arts, I've never seen any offensive kicking techniques taught in Arnis/Eskrima or Kali. I have however seen JKD stylists mix it up and do kicks while fighting with sticks or knife in hand. Which is why I was wondering whether the poster meant some other art like JKD instead of Arnis.

I'm forced to disagree with you, Shienaran. Arnis, Escrima, Kali, and other FMA, although focused more around weapons as a primary, include empty hand work as well. Typically these arts start out with the study of weapons before moving on to empty hand, as opposed to other arts that start with empty hand before teaching weapons, but nonetheless the techniques are there.

As for answering the question, I'm afraid you'll have to be a little clearer on what you mean as far as "how" kicks are done in arnis. Kicks are done like kicks. I'm not sure what you mean.
