"We are only supposed to lose ONE species every 100 years but instead we have lost 500 species in less then 400 years."
We've lost so many more animals than that. And you know there are more species than just pretty animals? Like plants, insects and fungi which are much more vulnerable to climate change. We lose hundreds of these species every day which contributes to those pretty animals dying out.

It's much worse than that. Last year's report placed the rate at 3 species per HOUR going extinct. That's faster than at the peak of any of the mass extinctions of the past.

we have lost 3000 species in 50 years ,
due to loss of Habitat and now climate changes
that are affecting micro biotic life which results in changes all the way up the food chain .
it is these changes at microscopic levels that have not yet hit the imaginations of most people and which will affect us the most.
Louy was very funny
but it wont be funny for long ,unfortunately

Humans have separated themselves greatly from Nature.
We are under the illusion that we are the only significant species. We build huge structures which displace other creatures. We've hunted magnificent animals in order to
play, collect the exotic, example: a tiger's skin and head for a rug to walk on, we have no foresight, it seems, for most, which would make us aware of our own eventual extinction.
With the increase of evolutionary intelligence, we have become, to our great flaw, a species apart, too ignorant, or deliberately, arrogantly stupid to be aware or concerned about the global damage we do, including to ourselves.
We seem to think our intelligence will defy our extinction . . when of course at the disinterested for most, rate we are going, that in itself is another total delusion. In simple conclusion, "Great Woe be to US!"

Well in some ways you are right. Somehow our intellect and understanding as humans have made us ignorant, placing ourselves on top of everything sometimes even above God. But don't forget that even if we have this capacity for destruction and selfishness, we also have the capacity to create and protect. I just do not think that humans are making the best decisions right now. Not all people may think this but I think it all depends on our choices

I agree and disagree. I think that sure one bad apple spoils the rest but I also think that people can stand up for what they believe in and those are the people who change the world.
