Well in the Bible Jesus said some of the people with him would not taste death before he returned...did Jesus make Peter immortal...and he secretly guides the Popes in their decisions?

St. Peter was actually martyred in Rome. He was the first pope but he doesn't guide the other popes, the Holy Spirit does. This is why we can trust the Church to lead us to truth.

Interesting question!

P.S. Everyone in Heaven is alive, actually, so St. Peter is still alive. Also, every human being has an immortal soul - we will ALL live forever, either in Heaven or in Hell. After the second coming of Christ, the souls in Heaven will be given a glorified body.
