I'm almost 18 now. I currently drive a 1995 audi a6 with an auto tranny. Although an incredibly well appointed car with great reliability, the car is fairly slow( 0-60 in about 10.5). i've been making some money and have about 12k (assuming i sold my own car for 6k). i'm looking for something sporty yet still refined. the 95 S6 is too rare i can't find any local listings. I would like to hear your suggestions on what other car you would buy

You could take half of that money and make your audi's 0-60 time 5 seconds. Soup it up brother...

Take a look at a Hyundai Elantra, I'm not sure for what they're running for now, but I have a 2002 that I got for around 12K. It's not the fastest car, but when mated to a 5 speed manual, it can be pretty sporty. And the new Elantras look really good. There is also a GT model that I've driven that is very sporty, but I believe it's a couple thousand more.

Not so sure but maybe an Acura/Honda Integra. Looks nice, fast, sporty and saves some gas.

Or maybe a Honda Prelude, Honda CRX Si, Honda Civic Si.

Toyota Celica, Solora, Lexus IS300 (Toyota Altezza in Japan)

etc.

You could get a Mustang convertible for about that, maybe seven years old. If you don't live in a warm place where you'll often put the top down, then a regular 'stang would be great, too.

How about the hybrid Toyota Prius? Good on gas, then you will have more money in your pocket.
