I often pray for the people using this site. After getting to know the amazing God that I have I just feel I want others to learn of Him and to have the life change that He brings.

No. But instead of praying that I receive ten points, can you please reward my answer as best?

With all due respect, as an atheist, you praying for me affects me as much as some guy sneezing in Siberia.

Praying for people like me and wanting us to "learn" hints at feelings of superiority on your part. I have to respond to that.

The God that you say is amazing and brings wondrous changes to peoples' lives does not exist. God did not create man. Man created God. No one has seen God. No one has met God. God is a man-made concept.

Think about it. All you know of God came from reading books, most notably the Bible, and listening to "Godly men" preach. The books were written by men, in many cases, centuries after the events described took place. The priests and pastors are just men with seminary degrees.

So, what can we really say about God that we can't say about Superman? They are both ficticious creations. By man. Further, God is constructed such that he cannot lose. If someone has healthy baby, or gets a promotion, or beats cancer, it's time to "Thank God!!". When a child dies or a 9/11 happens, it's "God has better plans." or "God works in mysterious ways." And why? Well, Eve and Adam ate the apple, and we're ALL sinners, and yadda, yadda, yadda.

I am my God. When life goes well for me, I take the credit. When it doesn't, I take the blame. I pity those who lay credit at God's feet for every good thing that happens to them. They are doing themselves a great disservice. Accomplishment and motivation are not incentvised by a belief in God. It's more like "My life is in his hands, I wonder what he has in store for me." Meaning what? Sit around and wait?

I respect you, but I just can't buy into any facet of religion. Not one. The church is nothing but a business. You doubt me? Take a look at the biggest church of them all. The Catholic church. Almost as shocking as the molestation has been the ability to pay off hundreds of millions in lawsuits, and, the revelation of billions and billions in assets.

Jesus had no use for money. Does God? Why do these "men of the cloth" who solicit money from those who can least afford to give it, need so much of it? For that matter, why is any church necessary? Isn't God supposed to be in your heart? A one-on-one kind of thing? What is this middle-man we call the church? Ah yes. A business with revenue and expenditures. And the service they provide? They bring people closer to God. The God they created. What a racket.

Done babbling.

Nope, not all if many believers could pray instead of using judgmental talk and condemning people to hell even though "god" never made/appoint them as his assistant. I've thought that would be a more peaceful way of getting people to join and if it does not work then it wasn't meant to be.

I do believe in God, but not in the same way most people do, I went through a few years of not believing because I was tired of what the mainstream was saying and it didn't make sense to me, so I can tell you, pray for people, even tell them, but don't force your believes on anyone, thats what drives people away from religion

I pray for you to, just to different god forms.
May the Goddess shine her blessings on you, as you walk whatever spiritual path you find comfort in.

No, I don't care if you pray for me, I just think your wasting your time, but if that makes you feel better then to each his own.

I wouldn't say that it bothers me, It just gets to me when someone tries to argue or prove their religion to me. I just simply think that beliefs are personal and everyone has the right to chose what they want to believe.

No, but it's incredibly RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and HATEFUL of you to try to destroy other people's beliefs. Fortunately, atheists are better people than that.

NO amount of shameful begging will make those of us with morals worship the sadistic, immoral, killer God of the Bible. He's not good enough for us. You're free to be impressed by all that, though. Enjoy!

FYI...I am a christian and I don't think that it should bother anyone if we pray for them! It just shows that we love the sinner, but hate the sin of those who are unsaved. We are supposed to pray for those who hate us and persecute us! So.. I for one will continue to do so! If you don't like it, what you don't know will not hurt you! God Bless All!! (:

not really, actually it doesn't bother me at all because all your trying to do is help in a way you believe will work and it shouldn't bother anyone if someone is trying to help them. even if they think what your doing is pointless.

I don't think that your praying for them, bothers them, however your Holier-than-thou attitude bothers me. Do you really think that you are perfect and have no need for your own prayers? Why would you tell people that they are in need of prayers when you don't even know them.
