I have tried three different prescription sleeping aids and none of them has done a thing for me. My doctor had determined that I am not depressed and in good physical health otherwise.

My mother suffered with chronic insomnia from ages 9-60. Two hours for her was a good night Some nights she didn't sleep at all. She ached of tiredness and finally found help through a sleep clinic. I can help you. For starters, I want you to go to your doctor and get a prescription for Ambien CR. It will put you to sleep and keep you asleep. It's a brand new med that is non-habit forming!! I really think that will be all the help you need. If that doesn't work, feel free to e-mail me. We can try more drastic measures. btw, my mother is now 79-years young, and sleeps 7 hours a night. It's the closest thing to a miracle I've ever seen. Try the Ambien CR. Make the appt. tomorrow. Good luck to you. :)

Maybe you just need to relax. If you're having trouble falling asleep, sitting in front of a bright computer is not what you should be doing.
Dim the light and do something relaxing, read a book, do some simple puzzles, whatever you like.
I can't believe that nurse would ply her own mother with medication. No offense to her but I think something is seriously wrong when the nurse sounds like a drug commercial.

Insomnia. No rhyme or reason. I had it for years. The all natural method is melatonin regimen. See an accupuncturist or wholistic doctor.

Also, try more exercise. I take a walk in the early morning, then go to the gym after work for an hour. Just before bed, I do some pilates exercises and tense my muscles. I sleep like a baby.

Also, no more caffiene or soda of any kind. No sugar either. No fried foods. No alcohol. If you really want to see a change, you're going to have to change your life.

Show me a person who cannot sleep and I'll show you a person with alot on their mind. If you have a stressful life it's hard to let it all go when it's time for bed
