Well here's the story, My boyfriend and I had a baby in March and the number of time's his mother has seen the baby I can count on one hand. I talk to her every blue moon but we are not close or anything. This is only her 2nd grandchild and her 1st boy. Does anyone think that's weird that a grandmother wouldn't want to see her grandson or keep him or anything? She asked to keep him one time but didn't say anything to me she asked her son and he mentioned it to me. Otherwise nothing and she doesn't call to check on him either even when I was pregnant she didn't call to check on me that often. I asked him about it and he said she works a lot but she doesn't work more than any other normal person. And she and I don't have any problems she likes me and I like her so I don't think it's that. What could it be??

Maybe she is tired or depressed. You will only know if you ask her. Just ask her if shes ok and if she says yes ask her why she doesnt seem interested in her grandchild.

does she secretly doubt that the baby may not be her sons? If she does then she may not want to get close to it incase she finds out later on that it's not her grandbaby! I would think that being a grandparent myself that, she would want to spend some time with her grandbaby!! Especially knowing it's her first grandson!! Your first is always someting Grand, a big deal you know!!! But i could be wrong? I 'm just guessing what i would think because i know there is folks like that and i have heard of this before !! When they have doubt and they don't want to get hurt !!! Maybe you should have a talk with her and see how she feels and let her know your open to letting her spend some time with him if she would like!!! thats what i do, offer it to her and see if she does it or not? If she doesn't then you will know something ,right!! So just call her and ask her If she'd like to spend some time with her new grandson and let her know it's o.k. with you and set a date for her to come get him or visit him !! be sure to get a date!

She raised her's, she doesn't want to raise someone else's. If this is not the case, have you ever invited her over? Have you ever tried to establish a relationship with her at all? Maybe she is nervous. Maybe she doesn't want you to think she is trying to be a busy body, or know it all, or get in the way. Have ever concidered these? Have you ever just called her to say Hi, or chat? You should try it.

That is kinda weird, grandmothers love seeing their grandchildren!! Maybe she doesnt feel close to you, and doesnt want to but in! You should invite her over more, talk to her. She probablly loves you and your son, but she may feel distance between you two. Just try talking to her!! Good luck.
