Can Truth change?

There is perspective on everything, so probably not. There is momentary truth (the current temperature of a particular part of your forehead, for instance), but for absolute truth, you would have to ignore the uncertainty principle, and doing so would render whatever you say false at least part of the time.

^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^

Yes. Because the man who claims there is no such thing as absolute truth admits that absolute truth does not exist. But if absolute truth does not exist, then the statement, "There is no such thing as absolute truth," is true. And if anything is true, then there is truth.

Truth can change in one sense. For instance, right now it is true that I am alive. In 200 years is will most certainly be true to say that I am not alive. But, it would be false to say that 200 years ago I was not alive. So in an absolute sense, no. Truth cannot change.

Truth can not change. If God created the universe, he always created the universe. If God does not exist, he always hasn't existed. Just because humans believe, perceive, and act relatively, does not in anyway effect truth. Absolutes are unavoidable. Even the statement that all truth is relative is an absolute. There is no getting around, and as much as some complain about people who believe in absolutes, I highly doubt that any of them have thought of the consequences of a purely relative world. Justice would be a figment of our imaginations, as well as fidelity, love, trust, right, wrong and purpose. The terms would all be meaningless. No one lives like that, they only like to think truth is relative when discussing issues like God, the only thing relative is our understanding, truth is constant, and unchanged. The fatal flaw of humans is that we think we define truth as we go, truth exist whether we ever discover it or not. Truth is not dependant upon us uncovering it. Truth does not need us, and we are not the authority over it.

Yes, but it's not a thing, all things come from it and at the absolute level are it. Absolute Truth can not change, things can and do change. The Moon waxes and wanes, Dies and is reborn every 28 days, however the moon {relative truth} gets it's light or life from the sun {Absolute truth} it does not change.

It would be tempting to say that "there is no such thing as Absolute Truth," which, of course, would be an Absolute Truth.

This would be reminiscent of the sentence below:

"What I am saying right now is a lie."

of course theres such a thing as Absolute Truth. Because God is the truth. He said "I am the way, the TRUTH and the life."

Are you truely asking this question? Are you meaning what you are asking?

Who gets to decide the definition of truth?

If you're a Catholic, religious "truth" is whatever the Pope says. And the Pope's successor may decide to repeal that truth.

If you're a Moonie, religious truth is whatever Sun Myung Moon says.

Yes, indeedy!
Of course with the pc of the day, noone wants to hear that.
No one wants to be offended, or be the offender..like in h.s. we now have 20 valetorians, so we dont hurt the feelings of the 19 that just didnt cut it.

Truth cant change, a rose is rose no matter what color.
Its people minds that change, or attitude.

Pilate asked Jesus that same ?..and Jesus did give him the answer, and Pilot rebuked it.
Pilot knowing he was killing an innocent man, and even went insane because of it. His wife even told him, have nothing to do with this man!
And thats why he wash his hands in water before the crowd, so the blood would be on the crowds hands.

The truth is Jesus Christ..thats why many hate the bible, it makes one look at one self, but the sad thing is they fail to see the otherside, God is forgiving, and takes the soul and washes it.

Come as you are with out one plea...just as I am, O Lord, O Lord.
Why change your truth for the Lord, he will change ya, just as you are.
Absolute truth is God, no man, wishing to destroy his word, can change the truth, that we are all sinners.
But the Grace of God, the grace of God, his pardon, changes us.
Thats the beauty of amazing grace.

If there is absolute physical truth, then there has to be absolute spiritual truth. Truth cannot and does not change. You may not understand the truth, so it may appear to change, but it cannot.

Some truths are inclusive of other truths. Does a Truth of all possible truths exist?
