How does the modern German military compare to its WW2 predecessor?

Much has been written about the prowess of the German military under Hitler, which plowed across Europe on 2 fronts. They were also technologically and tactically advanced for their time. How does the modern German military stack up against its predecessor?

I would beg to differ with other posters, the Modern German Bundeswehr is very professional, they not only maintain a good size force with modern equipment but serve in Afghanistan and have served previously in Somalia and with the UN in Croatia. Their first mission outside Germany post WW2 was in Cambodia as UN troops (mainly Medical) but armed for self protection.
They also had a very strong NATO / KFOR contribution in the former Jugoslavia and maintain a strong force in Kosovo.
I rate them as good as the British, USA, French military etc of today.

With regards "They were also technologically and tactically advanced for their time." in WW2 their wonder equipment was always in short supply, they had to play "catch-up" in an effort to stop the Russian T-34, they were to diverse trying to develop to many new systems at the same time, sending tanks into Battle at Kursk (with serious mechanical defects and no machine guns for close support!) once their manpower source began to be overstretched and their combat casualties became so high they lost their effectiveness.
Also over 65% ofthe German forces relied on Horses to move their equipment and supplies.

One would think that as advanced as the German military was when Hitler was in rule, that its predecessors' could not be compared to modern German military.

the respond is important in case you realize WWII. they could carpet bomb the **** out of any us of a even suspected of being a terrorist shelter haven. that is precisely what we would desire to have performed these days. that is unhappy that persons do not benefit wisdom of from historic previous.
