Knowing the question often helps in determining what the cards are, but, well, let's see.

Past - there was structure and discipline in the past. You might have known with certainty and clarity what you wanted to do, and had a good and well-founded basis. It can also indicate another person, often a man, in your life that has been giving you advice on this matter - who might have shown you "the way" in some form or fashion.

Present - At the moment though, it appears that the plans of the Emperor are somewhat falling apart. You might have come to doubt certain aspects of the situation (or your own ability to cope with things). What started well is now coming to a screetching halt, and you appear a bit "headless" as to what to do next.

Future - re-strategize and re-consider your plans. If it is not working at the moment as you planned / hoped - take a step back and come up with a different strategy. Beware of who to ask advice from though - or what measurements you take into consideration. There might be some struggle ahead of you in this matter, possibly, at best, discussions and talks that will help, at worst, conflict and arguments that cause turmoil and unrest. In any way, try to keep a level head and stick to your principles, and don't let others dog you or influence you in any way that goes against your principles and better judgment.

Hope that'll help some.

Past - The Emperor (earth)
Present - Ace of Wands Reversed (fire)
Future - 5 Swords (air)

This reading centers around employment (Wands or Rods), or the start of new employment. Looks like you will not be gainfully employed in your chosen field right off. There will be a time when you have to take a job in a related field, which will not make you happy. The absence of the element of water advises you to stay emotionally detached. To use the modern venacular "Just Do It." We all have to "do it," that is, manage & make do, & so must you.

The Past, The Emporer is completely devoid of significance.

Present, Ace of Wands occupies a vacuum of meaning

Future 5 Swords has no perceptible meaning whatever.

Given these three facts, we can only conclude that the reading is utter rubbish.

the emperor basically means that you have a person around you who maybe is older and wiser than yourself.
who has more power, you could be in the same position as this person.
If he emperor represents a situation, then this tells you that you are in control of your life

Ace of wands- means that you are going to have some delays happening before you get started of a new venture, i would suggest to you that if you are thinking of starting something new, to put it on hold fornow.

Five swords- You could be banging your head against a brick wall if you are trying to get somewhere, you should maybe admit defeat, and give up whatever it is your trying to achieve.
Maybe try again and succeed in something that you know you would be able to achieve.

First it would help to know what your question was...but

Emperor: Structure, Father figure...control.
Ace Wands: Something is blocking your success...challenges.
5 Swords: Failure, or success w/o happiness...

It appears as though you've had a structured past...you were in control or someone was in control of you.

Today, you are having to deal with a lot of challenges in trying to succeed at whatever you are trying to do.

You may be successful and NOT happy, or you may not succeed in your venture...I guess it could also be how you determine success...

Past = The Lord Jesus came to earth to save people from their sins.

Present = The Devil blinds the minds of unbelievers to the truth of the gospel.

Future = If you don't repent and trust in Jesus for your salvation then you will be destroyed by the Sword that comes from his mouth when He returns to earth.

Philippians 2:5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Revelation 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
