She most likely has an upper respiratory infection if she is sneezing and that can make them decide to eat. Also, if she is still only 2 months old, she may not be ready for dry food. She needs canned only and kitty chow for sure. Also at that age, you can still give her kitten suppliment milk from the pet store which is packed full of vitamins for her. Get some quickly into her. And, to get her to start eating, the best thing out there is to go get some Gerber or Heinz baby meat. Do not get beef or veal since that is too harsh on kitty's tummy at that age but chicken and turkey are fine. Get a very good quality kitty soft food ( that is much better for a cat than dry is anyway) and spread some of the baby meat on the top and it will devour it. If the vet didn't put it on antibiotics for it's cold, then I would call them back and see if they think the kitten is gettng worse. If you pinch the fur at the back of the neck kind of tight and then release it quickly and it doesn't immediately lay back down but sort of sticks together, then the kitten is getting dehydrated from lack of moisture. Get some kitten milk and moist food into it as quickly as possible. If the kitten still won't eat that combination, then there is definitely something wrong with it and it needs medical attention, since I've used that combination on lots of kittens and sick adult cats and it works great. Good luck

Most of the time kittens take a while to adjust to a new place and may not eat right away. If they have their shots when they leave the shelter it can take a while for them to wear off. Kittens should also only have kitten formula food its easier for them to digest. Please take her back to the vet (maybe a different vet get a second oppinion) and tell them whats happenng and get, ask them if there is some anti biotics for the caughing and sneazing.

cat's have allergies too.see if you can find what is bothering the cat.i know it's hard .also has the cat put anything in it's mouth at all there could be something stuck in it's throat.the kitten also misses it's mother.get a bottle feeder and formula at the vets or pet store.if that doesn't work, the cat is sick.i had to bottle feed 2 of my cat's because 1 was taken away too early from it's mother and the other's mother wanted nothing to do with it .they both survived and are doing well.all grown up.

it could be because she is new. is she drinking? if not, take her to the vet. I would give her another day. My kitten did not eat either at first.

p.s. my cat sneazes almost everyday

Try holding her and feeding her by hand. She may need a parent to show her what is okay to eat.

When I brought my puppy home at eight weeks the breeded was bad and didn't wean him. He had never had dogfood, so I had to show him it was okay to eat, by holding him in my lap and putting the food near his mouth. He was scared, because he missed his mommy and was in a new place. I think this helped us bond. He learned that what I gave him was good. He still likes to eat out of my hand, but I do not have time to indulge him everyday.

Also when I brough my kitty home, she didn't eat until I sat with her and put it in her mouth gently. I knew the people who had her momma and her momma showed the kittens when to eat and what not to eat. Smart cats. The cat got so used to eating from my hand that she taught herself to eat with her paws. So cute.

Go back to the vet.. you also need to find out what it was eating before, and use that brand and gradually go into the new brand...
