The Assyrians and Egypt were on the decline and Babylon was yet to rise. David became king over many of the Jewish tribes as King of both Israel and Judah. He is given credit for numerous battles against the Philistines (Phoenecians / Palestinians). This was the height of Jewish history, when David and his successor, Solomon, ruled an area the size of Maine.

Have you not read?:

1Samuel 18:7
And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
8 And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?

1Samuel 21:11
And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

1Samuel 29:5
Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

Read the Bible and read about David. You may well find your answer there. PS..You may want to do some reading on grammar too.

Please read "The Bible Unearthed" for more complete information, and on the off chance that you might pick up some of the basic conventions of written English.
