Red is more tart, generally cheaper, and doesnt go down as well as black (it still tastes good though) and has more of an aftertaste. Black is SMOOTH, more expensive and doesnt give you as much of a hangover.... I like them both though.

Johnny Walker Alcohol

Johnny Walker is a blend. The different labels (colors) of JW correspond to the age of the scotches that go into the blend and make them cost more. Generally speaking the older the scotch is, the more time it has had to mature and mellow in the barrel and is considered superior to scotches that are not as old. Having said that, it always boils down to personal taste. If you like Red Label, then you should enjoy it and it doesn't imply that your tastes are inferior to other people.

red - a blend of approx 35 different whiskeys of varying ages, some being grain whiskey and some being malt. this is best considered a 'mixing' whiskey. $20 - $30

black - a mixture of 40 different whiskies, each aged at least 12 years. $30 - $40

then comes green, gold and blue, which of course, is outstanding, sometimes costing $200 a bottle.
