I know I'm a "rare" case, but I've seen DOZENS of MD's in my life- and all but TWO of them have been wrong. Realising that this was going to be a "problem" from early on, I studied up on my OWN Condition- and now "self treat myself"- to great success. The bottom "line" IS; NO doctor knows EVERYTHING. And they CAN be wrong. Give them their "due", ask LOTS of Questions, and if you STILL aren't satisfied with the answers you're getting- go to ANOTHER Doctor, until you find one you're satisfied with.

My husband. It took several doctors (including the mayo clinic, in rochester, mn) to finally figure out that he had lupus.
They didn't necessarily give him a wrong diagnosis, it's just that none of them could figure out exactly what the diagnosis should be.

I was told by 3 different docs that I was suffering from depression & that was why I was always in pain. The fourth doc I visited finally diagnosed me w/ Fibromyalgia. I was so happy to have someone finally tell me that it wasn't all in my head.
