I get so tired of people double talking about this. If I am an unbeliever, some Christians would tell me that unconfessed sin blocks me from God because God can't even look upon so much sin. Well, my question is, did he just get over that problem when Satan waltz into heaven and they had their civil conversation about Job? Come up with some good answers about how that doesn't apply to this or that.

.I think mankind enjoys superimposing it,s own fears on God who in reality isn't even cognizant of the small pestilence

If God can't stand the presence of evil and the Satan being his arch enemy, it means that the Satan and god have equal powers and god is really not all-powerful after all for if God is only using Satan to test man and he can win over Satan anytime then God should have no problem with Satan.

Interesting question, and yes you are right that scripture tells us Satan came before God.
That comes from Job 1:8 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.
From this we gather that the angels came before the Lord and Satan was among them. This does not mean that God had fellowship with Satan, or enjoyed his company. This Angelic Assembly was required of the angels.
Sin does indeed separate you from God...but it is YOU who cannot face him when you sin. If you don't think that disobedience effects relationships, try being rude and disrespectful to your friends, as see how much time they want to spend with you!
God is still reaching out to you, for the bible tells us..while we were sinners, Christ died for us.
The only way to draw near to God is to cleanse your heart and your hands (ask for forgiveness and change your ways)
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart...Psalms 24:3

Psalm 11: 5
Jehovah is close to the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the one committing violence.

Proverbs 15:29
Jehovah hears the prayers of the righteous but He is far away from the wicked.

1 Peter 3:11
"Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

1 John 3:22
"And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."

James 5:16
"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

1 Corinthians 6: 9 -10
"What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom".

Do not try to change what you have no control over. Don't make excuses for your immoral behavior. YOU only fool you and no one else is fooled; NO ONE; only YOU.

The way I learned it in Sunday school was that a sinner turns his back on God, as opposed to God turning his back on the sinner. That would mean that Satan could talk to God, as he did in the Book of Job, but chooses not to. It's been a while, but that sounds right...

God loves all His creation! Including those who are not yet saved. Why else would the only Son of God die for your sins and mine. It is very plain spoken in the Bible by Jesus that no man comes to the Father except by me. So what your friends are trying to tell you is that unless Jesus is in your life your prayers will not be heard by God since they have to go through Jesus who you have chosen not to accept yet. Note satan is not a man but a fallen angle.

satan is a fallen angel God created (satan isn't sin).

If that were true, God would not have allowed so many children to be molested by priests. Some were actually violated in churches and rectories.

I think sin must be like Kryptonite.
Perhaps, if we could get a lot of it, we could trap god in a room somewhere?
