Yes, God is a dictator but not in the sense of a cruel tyrant. He is a benevolent dictator. The Bible describes God in one passage as a "despot".
2 Peter 2:1-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master (despóteÌs) who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
despóteÌs - Master, one who possesses supreme authority, despot.
As to only having two options, the options are life and death. Sorry that you can't have more choices, but God doesn't run a Burger King here on earth. You don't get it "your way".

Its not really true. If all the Christians you know are really hurt-full and really have negative qualities you don't need to be Christian.
I am a Christian and I myself am tired of dealing with ignorant Christians that make the rest of us look bad.
It doesn't matter what religion you are, if you are a good person, help people, and have respect for people you will be rewarded. There are many people of different religions who I believe are not "with the devil" I personally am Christian because I have been exposed to other Christians that have truly emulated what I want to be like.
It just so happened that the positive people I have been exposed to were Christians, they could have been Jews or Muslims....anyway I hope u get the point.

No God is not a dictator. So many people have it so wrong. I don't consider myself a christian. I fell out of the church (roman catholic) years ago due to the scandals and tried other churches. I really got tired of 99.9% of them. They're not there to be with God and to teach God they have made the church a ($$$$$) business. I don't know too many poor or middle class preachers, ministers, whatever. There are so many different religions and practices of beliefs that none of us is in charge of judging. We are in America, freedom of religion and those who feel they can say ugly things are not truely who they say they are. Believe in something. We all need someone or something in our hour of need or moments of sadness. Reach out, someone will be there.

Hmm, since burgers and hamburgers are the same thing, it's more like choosing between chocolate and asparagus.
