earlier today, I let my friend drive/borrow my car I was not with him. He stopped at a traffic light and some lady fell asleep at the wheel and rear ended him. Would that lady's insurance cover my car its pretty much totalled the whole read end is smashed in. I was just wondering if they will cover since my friend was driving my car and not me? THANKS!

If the other lady was cited for being at fault, her insurance has to pay the damages to your vehicle, regardless of who was driving.

It would very easily be the lady's complete fault for the accident so her insurance would be required to pay for it 100%. Some insurance companies don't care who the driver is and some do. Also it depends on the driver. My car got totalled while my boyfriend was driving it and he wasn't on my policy. He went off the road in an ice storm so there was no other driver and the insurance company had no problem paying for it. I would contact your insurance company and tell them about the accident and they will help you to deal with the other driver's insurance as well.

Shouldn't matter who was driving. It was clearly her fault and her insurance will be responsible for paying.
