Isn't it surprising that with the hundreds of people on that bridge, so few died? They dropped 60 feet, surrounded by concrete and steel. Is that a testament to the safety cars today?

If God had anything to do with this, why wouldn't he have prevented the bridge from collapsing? It was gravity and a lack of proper maintenance that caused the disaster. It was the manner in which the bridge collapsed that prevented more lives from being lost.

I read today that an architectural engineer from I think northwestern university said that actually the bridge design with it havin' the arch spans may have been a factor in not as many people bein' killed. somethin' about because there wasn't any steel beams and all up above the road to fall on the cars and trucks.

Actually they have not been able to recover all of the bodies. According to an article in USA Today divers have seen people entombed in their cars. They have more than 30 people missing.

why must we question everything that happens around us like we can change it or make it different after it happens , it is easy to say that you would do something different after it happens ,why cant people just be happy that everything in this world happens for a reason and don't ask what the reason is but there is a reason it happened and be thankful for those that survived and pray for the families of those that didn't , learn to live life , not question life , god bless us all

Vehicles were not moving, drop is not too high, no structure over them to fall on cars.

i doubt it has anything to do with the saftey of the cars. The high power was looking over.

Yes, or most were just lucky becuase nothing even slammed their cars or fell on them.
