Americans like a quick fix. For years we have been told to reduce our calories and exercise to burn up what we eat. However, people have had operations to reduce their stomachs so that they could not eat as much yet some contiune to gain weight. That lead other speciallists to say our weight is controlled by our genetic makeup. ABC news reported last week that scientists are finding evidence that toxins in our enviroment are attaching themselves to our genes and in the process they turn off the gene that regulates our weight --- thus causing us to gain weight. They have not identified the toxin causing the problem yet.

People want instant gratification. They want to spend a week starving themselves and running 10 miles a day as opposed to eating healthy and working out in moderation according to their body for months.

These are the people who are clearly not losing weight to be in better health..that's a huge lie. These are the people who are doing it out of vanity, and honestly, skeletons don't look good.

ahhh, i would love to know why many people do this. my opinion is they want to do what they are doing(eating bad and being lazy), but find a miracle pill or exercise. to all dieters i must tell you this: stop eating so much and get off of your tush. that is the secret "diet"
