I asked a question about the Bible last night, and true it was a little long-winded, and had a bit of a rant in it, and someone had it removed! I find this completely irritating and insulting. Why would someone who has absolute faith it their scriptures mind it being questioned by someone who does not believe in or agree with what is written? That, to me, would prove that you don't have faith and don't feel that you can support what you believe in.
Just to make it clear, I did not insult anyone or anything, there was no foul language, and I did ask a question. More than one question as a matter of fact.

tuberoot, my gist of my question was should the Bible be taken literally or figuritively. I do enjoy a good argument, but not once have I ever been insulting without provocation. By that, I mean without answering questions that begin "why are atheists so dumb?" Even then I try not to stoop down to that level. Therefore I see no reason to hit the abuse button.

CC, I can't imagine anyone reporting YOU for abuse. You're just about the most peaceful person on here! But that does make me feel a little better. I mean hey, if they report you, they'll do it to anyone.

That happens all the time. Don't let it keep you from speaking your mind. People who use the abuse button are mostly infantile tattle-tales. If you don't like an answer, be an adult and move on.
(The person who reported the avatar with a penis is one of the few who was in the right to complain... Understandable)
But if you don't like someones opinions of your beliefs, reporting it as abuse is just childish. Please grow up.

No, I know the Bible is the Word of the Almighty living God. The Bible can be a hard book to understand without asking questions and resolving where there might be a contradiction in ones mind. However, there has never been anything in the Bible that I could not get an answer for. The Bible is also open to personal interpretation and I am always weighing religious doctrine with what the Bible has to say. Of course, the Bible is the authority on what God wants us to do! There is nothing wrong with examining a religious doctrine by the facts presented in the Bible to see whether it is one approved by God! I do not claim to know everything, and will often research religious theory myself just to make sure it holds weight. I think this is what everyone should do before blindly following anything out there! I am sorry your question was removed. I think this forum is here so everyone can learn as long as we respect each others beliefs.
Also, we must show reverence and respect to God, above all! This should never be a place to bash the Lord or His followers!

The Bible has become sacrosanct, and the terminology has caused some Christians to worship what was intended to be a testimonial. If you were TOTALLY convinced there were an all powerful God then you would defend it. They think the Bible is in the most literal terms the "Word of God." Jesus in written form. The scriptures tell us that only a small part of what Jesus taught was written and the author speculated that it would take all the books in the world to contain his teachings. It's a weird world view.
I've had post deleted as well. Anyone can report at any time for any reason and you'll probably have your post pulled.

if you question the bible in a somewhat respectful manner, i'll gladly reply, so long as i'm confident that i can provide a sufficient answer. in fact, i rather enjoy that.
if implications, accusations, or outright insults are made however, i tend not to respond at all. it's better for me to keep quiet than to misrepresent my fellow christians.
in regards to your question last night (the one you mentioned in your details), no, i don't think the entire bible is meant to be taken literally. some of it is, some of it isn't. there's no fine line there.

I am sorry that you were not treated properly and politely. It strengthens my faith to speak about it and defend it. Even more, those who ask may be able to become a Christian through the gentle and truthful answer to a question that might come off as offensive to some. Love and truth need to cut through the skepticism.

Yahoo users don't have the ability to remove questions. There's no telling exactly why your question was removed. As to this question, I'm happy to answer people's questions about the Bible if they are seeking to know the truth and are not just Internet Trolls seeing who they can get a rise out of.

* Anybody can report any question or answer.
* There is no penalty for misreporting
* Yahoo staff has about 4 seconds to figure out if any complaint has merit
* Too many violations and your email account gets deleted.
Conclusion: We're all idiots for posting here.

i think of by using fact each nuanced habit by ability of human beings is a potential sin waiting to take place, then if something we human beings do is a sin, then no, yet in basic terms by using fact sins do no longer exist. My next notion is this, how wicked would desire to you be to contemplate abusing an animal, much less trolling for permission to do harm to an animal? this is the situation with believers, they're constantly finding for an excuse to harm somebody or something, it somewhat is the mark of a sociopath on the least. Who asks certainly one of those stuff besides? "Is it immoral"? there is not any redeeming social fee giving the term "ethical" any credence, any and all harm perpetrated by ability of believers falls decrease than un-ethical habit, ethical is a non secular code word for, "am i able to ruin out with doing it and nevertheless be prevalent as a believer", it somewhat is tantamount to the SEC & Wall highway the place the SEC is code for "morals", by using fact the SEC helps Wall highway to ruin out with just about something that's no longer nailed to the wall, it somewhat is (morals) is like fidgeting with abode funds, what share circumstances have you ever heard a non secular pundit accusing any of their acquaintances or enemies of lapses in ethical judgment?

No.
If you told me what you asked, I would have answered it.
But why did you ask? Many of us are not blind to the intent of the asker. It's s if a lot of people want to ask questions just to cause trouble. Not that I would report anyone for that. But It does seem a little abrasive towards us sometimes.

Well anyone who knows their Bible would not be in the least bit surprised to hear you a non-believer question the Bible since it states in the Bible that spiritual things are nonsense to unbelievers so I am not one bit surprised by your words but don't worry I will pray for you peace
