my rat terrier puppy doesnt listen to me at all. hes learned how to sit and shake but runs when i call him, thinks its a game if he gets yelled at, nips and bites at your legs, and pees and poops on the carpetafter weve had him outside for an hour. im losing my patience and i have no idea what else to do. someone please help me before i give up on my dog.

Clearly, the dog lacks proper training. You are at the point where you are going to have to get professional help. At the very least, get the dog to a good obedience class SOON!!!
You need a class that will train YOU so you can tarin your dog!! Most of these bad behaviors are the result of the OWNER doing things wrong!!!

A)Get The Art of Raising a Puppy and/or How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend: The Classic Training Manual for Dog Owners (Revised & Updated Edition) by the Monks of New Skete.
B)Don't yell or say "Bad Dog"
B1/2) You'll want to hit him. Don't. Lightly tap him on the bottom of his jaw so it snaps. It doesnt hurt the dog, but shows him who's boss.
C)Go outside and play with him. He might be misbehaving because he is lonely.
C1/2) Go to obedience school.
D) Call the dog whisperer.
E) If nothing works try to get or borrow a well trained, mature dog to hang out with him. They often learn from eachother.

you have to be the leader!hes acting like the leader.if you let him do all those things then hes spoiled and now hes leader.all you have to do is train him.put a leash on him and teach him his name call his name a few times.now tie him up to something,and when hes not staring at you call his name.if he answers then hes learnd his name.but call his name often.
if he nips you gotta yell NO.and litely spank him.
put your dog in the bathroom and put a potty pad or something he can use the bathroom in.if he pees where hes not supposed to litely spank him and sternly say NO.if he does the right thing praise him and give him a treat(no chocolate or onions,it could kill the dog)
i know all these things because i had a hyper jack russtel terrior puppy (but she is a young adult).i had all the same problems nipping, problems with potty training her, and she never respondes to her name...now she is a very good dog!

I personally found a great website called doghomelife.com and it shows you how to train your dog yourself in no time and it cost nothing compared to an actual trainer.

you shouldn't be yelling at him.
if he has not completed all his shots you can't take him anywhere, but I agree you need training.
google Perfect Paws for some help but get a trainer or behaviorist
