I've noticed that SOME of you guys don't like us Mormons (and other religions neither) but with all the respect that any religious organization deserves, I would like to ask if you bother if I/we use this term.

And all the Mormons, when we go under tha water of baptism we do a convenat with the lord and we have trully repent from our sins, the water cleans us from our past sins and means a new life after baptism, it's like if you're born again. Baptism has been great for me and I'm sure that for my fellow LDS brothers and sisters too and we felt like born again. Since we believe in Jesus, worship him, try to follow his example, we accept him as our savior, have faith in him, agree on his 2nd coming and have a testimony on him, we are Christians (if you say we're not, get a dictionary + resarch our beliefs).

This could apply to any other religion that is a Christian denomination and believes in baptism as the way of salvation.

Only someone that was not truly a christian would be bothered. Christ loved everyone, even sinners, if we are to be like him and call ourselves Christians we should do the same. Not like some of those that have answered your question with such venom. They are the ones that need to look up the definition.

Attending church is no problem. Happens all the time. Use the Bible. This year we are studying the New Testament. When we bring up a doctrine that you normally by-pass, just close your ears. What would not be acceptable is to drive out the Spirit by being contentious. You jump right into the question of membership. If he doesn't believe in in the doctrine of the church, why join? I remember when I wanted to join the Presbyterians, they had a catechism class. If you challenged the doctrine, you didn't join. So I guess someone who has authority and believes Joseph Smith was a prophet and told the truth would be embraced in your church or excluded?

A Mormon can claim to be a Born Again Christian, or they can call their self a Pontiac Grand Am, in either case it is simply not so. Christians do not believe we are ever going to become gods over our own worlds, nor that "AS man is God once was, as God is man can become." That is a Mormon Doctrine, and the last one that tried that was Satan himself Read Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. These were the words and stated goal of Satan. Nor does a Born Again Believer accept that God is fallable, Mormon doctrine states that at one time God commanded the Mormons to practice Polygamy, but later recalled the message. Does their god work for Ford, or GM? I mean in the Bible it states that a Bishop shall be the husband of One Wife, also note that the Bible says,I am the Lord I change not. That is in Malachai 3:16, so if God says One wife He means ONE WIFE.Interestingly the Mormons had no allowance for a woman to have more than one husband. It is also interesting that "God recalled that" at about the same time the people of Utah were trying to become a state in the US where the practice of Polygamy was not lawful. Born Again Christians also believe in Personal accountability and that after death there is no further chance for repentance, Mormons believe you can be baptized on behalf of dead relatives that were not Mormons.

Would it bother you if a Born Again Christian attended your church and wore a cross around his or her neck and carried a Bible that was translated into normal English that was understandable to the average person?
If he or she attended a Bible study in your church and used only the Bible as the guide and claimed the baptism he or she recieved at their church was true, would you accept them?
What if he or she fellowshipped with others in your membership and began to teach with authority in the name of Jesus and many believed and were saved. Would you accept them with open arms?
You say you are the Church of Jesus Christ, so that means anyone who believes in Jesus would be welcome as brothers, Right?
If you would exclude a Christian from your membership simply because he doesnt believe all the lies Joseph Smith told, then you are not Christian.

when you proclaim that you can elvolve into a Goddess, you are telling God, the power is within yourself to do everything yourself, you don;t need God or a savior, you are perfect or can be perfect. What do you need a savior for? This is the main reason for being born again, you admit you are a sinner, YOU NEED A SAVIOR (can't do everyting on your own) and you say the sinner's pray. Mormons think they are born again spiritually, Since you really don't need your savior to really save you because you save yourself as an evolving goddess, you are not saved.

Amen !! Praise God, but I do want to let you know that Joseph Smith did not exist as a "perfect human"....it even says in the Holy Bible that "There is none perfect, No not ONE!" These words are written in red and are from Jesus Christ himself! I suggest that you focus on the Holy Bible and not on the Book of Mormon's. I don't mean to offend you in any way, I just want you to have accurate information! And baptism does not "wash away" your sins, it is a public display of profession of your faith. You receive salvation once you confess with thy mouth that Jesus is the Son of God and believe that HE was sent to die on the cross for our sins, that is when you are truly saved! May God Bless You! Amen.

Hi, love Yahoo! I too am a born again christian and a convert from an anglican background. There's nothing wrong in you calling yourself a born again... but i guess what we 'born again' christians should realise is that it's not the title that matters but our deeds that show proof that Jesus is in our lives! Dont be bothered about 'who you were'..... focus on Jesus, HE IS THE SON OF GOD...(you have to believe He is)GOD LOVED US SO MUCH THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR OUR SINS...( we should be the ones to be crucified...we're the sinners). Jesus chose to die in our place because He loves us... He erased your past.... you are a Child Of God... stay in Jesus. Baptism is not the way of salvation, it is the outward proclamation of your faith (an act of righteousness) Baptism doesnt make you a Christ centered person. I know a lot of baptised people who are spiritually blind, my sister. Jesus said His children will hear His voice and they will obey Him. WE so called 'born again' christians should always remember that " our faith should always lead us to OBEDIENCE". Separate from your past life and all its deeds and embrace Jesus.

Baptism is not a way of salvation. It is only an out ward sign that we have accepted Jesus Christ as the only son of God who is our savior and we have ask Him into our hearts to guide our paths. If you believe this and have asked Jesus into your heart to lead your life then your are a Christian. If not then you have been lead astray and no amount of water can make anyone a christian. Only God can do that! At the judgment many will say we are Christians only to hear the Father say I knew you not.

If a Mormon said that they were born again to me I would rejoice. Whether you meant it the same as I would might become apparent later, but I would believe you.

You see, I have met a Mormon who knew the truth before. He would say joyfully and emphatically," It's all about Jesus! You have to trust Jesus!"

He had it right! I hope that there are millions of Mormons who have it right!
