its Okay if you think its OK, don't listen to what people tell you is right or wrong, if you want to go out with a 22 year old do it, if you want to go out with a 2 year old do it, it doesn't matter what is right or wrong its what you want. you make your choices now and if you regret them 20 years from now so what, you will regret it more to know you didn't do what you wanted. be safe though, think about the future but don't listen to what other people think is right or wrong, they aren't you. 8 years seems like a lot now but what about 60 and 68? 22 and 30? that seems like nothing

It doesn't matter how mature you think you are. I felt that i could drive a car at 10 years old. Guess what i was wrong. Your always gonna feel more mature then you are. The fact that a 22 year old is attracted to a 14 year old is frighting. When you are 22 and you meet a guy thats attracted to 14 year olds you will throw up. Those kind of guys are dangerous. The fact that your mother lets you drink and stay out at odd hours, and says that its ok for you to date a 22 year old suggests to me that she doesn't care about you.

And yes it is illegal for a 22 year old to go out with a 14 year old, even if you mom says its ok.

"Going out" with a 22 year old is perfectly legal. However, a 22 year old HAVING SEX with a 14 year old is not perfectly legal it's called statutory rape and can get the adult in serious trouble.

Although we are free to make friends with whom ever we want, usually there is too big of a spread in experience and maturity between a 22 year old and a 14 year old that a serious relationship between the two is not in anyone's best interest.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but it's an honest one. I wish you the best of luck.

I was the same way at your age, feeling more mature than my classmates, and I still feel that way at 21, but that doesn't mean it's okay for you to date some one who's 8 yrs older than you. Just think about what is wrong w/ him to want someone that much younger than him who's still a minor. He may not force you to do anything you don't want to do, but he may put a little pressure on you w/o intentionally doing it. It's best if you date someone closer to your age. It cuts down on complication.

Another thing, your mom shouldn't be letting you drink at all, or do whatever you want, even if you're an honor student. I was an honor student, and still am, but my parents never let me do whatever I wanted. They did go a little easier on me though.

Actually the age of consent varies from state to state so you might want to see what it is where you live. I know in California, just because a parent might not want to press statutory rape charges, doesn't mean the state won't criminally charge the 22 year old. Also be prepared for people to think that you are "slutty" because "why else would a 22 year old go out with a 14 year old". The other reason to wait is there is something wrong with a 22 year old that wants to date a 14 year old, ask yourself why they're not dating someone closer to their age.

It's illegal in all states, not to mention dangerous for you. A man that age has no business being near someone your age. He doesn't have good intentions no matter how "nice" he acts, the main word there being "act", which it is. Stay away from him. I understand you hating guys your age, at your age they still have a lot of catching up to do to girls, they are not as mature. But.... you have to understand that older guys and even older teen boys have one thing on their minds. And I'm not saying that to be mean, they can't help it, it is the way they just are at that age, their hormones are whacked so far out. So be careful no matter what age the boy, be patient and don't be in such a hurry to grow up, it ain't all it's cracked up to be !! enjoy your youth and don't worry about boys, you have your whole life to do that ! and best of luck.

I wouldn't. With that much of an age gap between you it's too risky. If you do just be careful because older guys, like with that age difference, like to take advantage of girls like you. You may feel like an adult, but your only 14. don't rush it trust me, just enjoy your teenage years while you still can. You're only a teenager once you know. Just remember that even though there are good guys out there, there are still pervs as well.

No, I am 23 and at your age I had a limit on which I chose. My age or 2yrs older but nothing over 18 until i reached 18. I date a guy know that is 29 but I am older with more experience. I look back on the guys i chose to talk to then and I think god its over. Besides it is illegal for him to have sex with you. But you don't want that with any age right now. remember guys try to feel our heads with that love crap majority of the time they are lying.

Try to stay away from him, he is too old for you. You might be mature but this might lead into something you might regret later on in life. Find someone a couple of years older than you, there are mature 16 year olds out there.

Yeah that is fine. You're 18 so it's legal first of all. Secondly, its only a 4 year difference! My boyfriend and I are 4 years apart.
