Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo believes that threatening Muslim extremists with the possibility of bombings on holy sites such as Mecca and Medina would provide a successful “deterrent” for future terrorist attacks against the United States.

Do you agree or disagree?

What a stupid suggestion, certainly not! you have to be prepaired to back up your threats, by targeting "Holy Sites" you run the risk of such action of turning the more moderate Muslims into U.S. Haters.

Mecca is in Saudia Arabia, and Saudia is not at war with the USA, so that would be an act of Aggression, and a US attack on that site would turn every Muslim in the world against the US and there are far more of them on the planet than Americans.

Any way under the "Rules of Warfare" Churches, Mosques, Shrines, Hospitals etc are out of bounds.
Just because the Insurgents don't respects the rules does not mean we have to lower ourselves to their level.

Wouldn't work. It's like threatening the Ku Klux Klan by threatening to blow up Protestant churches in the South.
I like Tom Tancredo. But, he's off-base on this one.

That policy statement is just plain thoughtless.

If you threaten to bomb a holy site, you bring the people involved with the extremists.

It would also bring the other Arab nations to the fore.

Totally disagree. They'd destroy it themselves if given half the chance. Major terrorist attacks have taken place in Mecca during the Haj. Thousands have been killed.

Muslims respect power, yes it would work splendidly and no it would never happen in today's politically correct world.

I am glad there was not political correctness during the American Revolution and WW 2.
