It is Arabic title. The equivalent of Shaikh in English is MR or ESQUIRE. In Urdu language it is JANAB, In India it is SHRI, in Spain it is SIGNOR. There is a sect Shaikh in Pakistan which is quite common in Punjab province. This title is normally for people in business and you know how business people are like, mean and miser. They take pride in being called themselves with this name. In Iran, title Sheikh is reserved for scholars and highly literary persons. True Shaikh is a person who is always busy in doubling his wealth through business. Genetically these people are very good numerical work. They normally take up the jobs as cashiers, accountant, chartered accountant and now more and more Shaikhs are coming in computer technology all over the world.
