that the words "i love you" should be as common of a word as "pass the remote"?

bcuz to me it seems teens in relationships dont take love serious and say it right off the bat. then turn around and break up. wheres your so called "love" now?

Thats because teens dont really know what real love is or how it feels. They think they are in love but in reality they are not. Saying "i love you" is one of the hardest things to tell someone, along with " i am sorry". They are young and still learning, and one day they will realize that what they thought was love really was only an infatuation.

Hope this helps

You're absolutely right, but as to the girl who said 14 year olds dont know what love is i could not possibly disagree more (not here to argue about that though). Anyways yes i wanna hit the kids that say that upside the head with a stick even if i am their age. It makes my girlfriend not believe me when i tell her. I have to tell her that i really do like her from the bottom of my heart and that i would never give her up for anything because she means the world to me. Not that i dont mind saying that because i mean it as well as when i say i love you. But that phrase is just way to over-used and in such a wrong way these days.

Hug whore you are very correct but it is not just kids that overuse the words and have trouble being able to identify what true love is. As a teen you are just experimenting and learning about the emotions of falling in and out of love. But as an adult we should be much wiser but sadly use it like a disposable diaper and toss it as easy as it appeared to come into your live.

Teens are saying i more and more because they aren't always getting the love that they need from their parents and they are finding "love" through people their age...

But the first guy that I told I love you to is still telling me that he loves me and that he wishes that we were still together... We have been broken up for almost a year... But we were together almost 6 months before we told each other that we loved the other...

wow, dont judge teenagers because they think that they are in love, our lack of experience makes us believe that we are truly in love even though we are not, also teenagers have feelings just like everyone else who says it cant be true love??

I completely agree. They say it like it's no big deal. When you're 14 years old, you don't know what love is!

it has now become a battle of needing to feel loved and cared for and being needed.

never say "i love you" unless you mean it. and when you really do, it comes out naturally that you will tell your mate i love you always. it's part of being in love.
