Satan's rebellion is not mentioned in the canonical bible (you know, the one put together at the council of Nicaea hundreds and hundreds of years ago). So technically, it is just Christian mythology (even though I think the whole bible is). Your question probably came up at one of the councils and was the deciding factor for that story's omission.

It's apparently a matter of dynamic tension, as theists have told me. People have to be able to choose Satan in order to really choose God.

Or, more reasonably, the people who invented god didn't see it coming because we're not supposed to ask questions like that.

You cannot apply logic or common sense to Christianity. As a mortal you are not capable of understanding the craziness of God or anyone else for that matter.

scripture says God is omnipotent ... all knowing.

rev. 19:6,

prob did but just let it happen like he does with every other bad things that happens on earth.......he just lets things happen
