Elaine my wife and I married on May 20 this year which was a Sunday. As it was a long weekend in Canada we choose this day because then people would have the next day off. In addition it was less expensive then wedding on a Saturday.

I think Saturdays are the most popular mainly because it is the most convenient for people. Most don't work on Sundays, so it won't matter if you're out late on Saturday. I have heard of Friday evening weddings, and Sunday brunch weddings, which are generally less expensive.

Most people tend to book weddings around weekends because of work schedules and because its easier on wedding guests and they can stay up and party at the reception (if there is going to be one). In July some people got married on the 7/7/07 which was a thursday and "lucky number" to be married on.

Saturday. No one wants to do anything on a Sunday, especially a wedding or even worse, a wedding in the later part of Sunday.

I got married in Vegas and it was on a Sunday because my spouse and I arrived in Vegas Saturday night. There were other couples getting married on a Sunday as well because they didn't want to wait I guess.
