I just read a question where some twisted sicko perv, had the nerve to accuse women of CAUSING sexual harassment, and attacks! This brain dead freak tried to put the blame on women for dressing nice. Doesn't that piece of human vomit know that it's the men that do this stuff who are to blame? It doesn't matter how a lady dresses, or if she's wearing makeup to a predator. A lady should be able to walk around in nothing but a thong and not be bothered. Jerks like that are at the upper end of the same group as the garbage who mistreat women. Yes, I'm a guy.. yes, I love looking at beautiful women.. yes, if I do something I should not, it is my own dang fault! Any disgusting piece of trash who would even hint that a lady is at fault because some SOB can't keep his head straight, should be castrated along with the rest of the pervs. Idiots like that make the rest of us country boys look bad. Anybody care to argue with that?!

How refreshing to here that from a riled up man! I love you for that. I would like to add that I have heard the same mistake made by women. Older women in particular seem to go by the old standard that it is always a woman's job to keep a man at bay, and believe if a woman is dressed in revealing clothes or out in bars late that she is somehow responsible if she is raped. I am 57, and do not share that opinion. I have also educated myself on the subject and know that rape and sexual harassment are about power, not desire. Many child molesters have used that excuse about young children, "they asked for it." Nobody asks to be brutalized or made miserable by harassment. Are men who go shirtless and in tight pants asking to be raped? [No, not aroused by an attractive woman to the point of sex, I mean raped like a woman is raped.] You tell it like it is Country Boy!

Now see when I started reading I was thinking one way then you zigged another. Women do cause sexual harassment. not of them being harassed but by harassing me. All the time with the butt grabbing and the looks. Oh the looks that burn my skin. It's like I'm a piece of meat.
So I know how women that get harassed feel. It's horrible and no one deserves it.

I also asked a question earlier, why do men commit violent crime more than women. The only answers I got was related to "testosterone". This doesn't make sense as women obviously go through more serious hormone changes on a regular basis. I really think its how we are socialized. Men are encouraged to be violent and out of control of their emotion. Hormones are just a lame excuse if you ask me. It is entirely possible for a man to control himself, lots of men do. Good for you for being more evolved.

Ugh, a topic that often gets me riled.
For the most part I agree with you. A woman should feel free to dress prettily and not worry about being harrassed.
I have to disagree with the part of walking around in nothing but a thong. Come on, THAT is asking for the wrong kind of attention.

It is always men's fault! Alright. I aknowledge that. Walking in a thong? Ever heard of morality or shame. What rubbish. Women know better how they should dress. If a drunken bastard comes out lookin for a prey and sees two twins walking side by side, equally beautifull; but one covered up and one in a thong. Who would he pick. You don't have to be drunk to figure that out.
Later, ya the police is not gonna put that girl into jail but that bastard. The whole world would blame that guy but wtf? That girl has already been raped. U can't get ur virginity back by sending that bastard to jail.
My Question to Women, why is dressing modestly is regarded as regressive in our society? Not all guys are same. Even if u appear naked to me, I wouldn't touch u but there are bastards who would.
Prevention is always better than getting ****** up!

Nope, and I'm glad to hear you speaking out. Domestic violence and rape are male issues, and won't change until men address them by speaking and acting in ways that demonstrate that this is not OK. As to the other part of your question - Accountability vs blame - that is pervasive throughout all levels of society. I have tremendous respect for people who can look at a situation and say "This was my part in that", and then let it go.

That's like saying you're asking to be car-jacked by driving a nice car, or to be mugged by wearing an expensive suit.
it's pure crap, that's what it is.
I'm guessing you read that in Gender Studies? there are some real knuckledragging trolls over there.
thanks for posting this, though, and bolstering my faith in your gender.
