I have a small beagle, and when she went to the bathroom today there were white magot looking things in her poop. Is there a medicine you can get at petsmart or walmart to cure this?

And is this harmful to humans? I have a 2yr old that cuddles and shares his food with her.

Yes these are worms. I would suggest you go to petsmart to get the medicine. There are three types of worms, hook round and tape worms. There is a type of medicine that you can find at petsmart. It covers all three types fo worms. For my pets, I buy the Happy Jack brand of wormer. It covers all three and is not that expensive. Wal-Mart carries wormer but it only covers one type of worm. With the Happy Jack brand you give 1tsp for every ten pounds. If you do not know how much your pet weighs you can put them on a household scale or you can step on the scale and weigh yourself then pick up your. Also, I do not think the worms will hurt your baby as long as it does not put any of it in her mouth. The worms die after being outside of the body becouse of teh temperature difference.

Take a stool sample to your vets office & get the proper wormer. The whole thing will probably cost less than $20.Just so you know there are several parasites & protazoa that can be found in stool,(roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, whipworms, coccidia, giardia) only checking a stool sample @ the vet can you be sure you are giving the proper meds.A note to Green Onion "the worms come back" because you buy your wormer @ the store rather than @ your vets office.

Yes it would be a wormier
and make sure you give only the amount for the weight of the dog and take it like the bottle says or you wont get them all killed
I don't know if you keep you dog inside but I would crate it till this problem is over because " this is gross" but those little maggit things can come out of them sitting on the floor or couch also, I'm not saying leave him crated let him outside to play and do his business but when inside crate him

TAKE HER TO THE VET!!!!!!! The worms you saw are the adults. There are still eggs that will hatch and lay more eggs, et cetera. I don't care what anyone else tells you, Wal-Mart does not carry anything that will rid the dogs of the worms. And chances are good if she has one kind that you can see, there are others you can't. She should be tested and put on medication from the vet.

specific you're able to pass to the vet and take a stool pattern with you ASAP. additionally area of ordinary care is to take up a stool pattern once or twice a 300 and sixty 5 days and likewise have a heartworm try finished as quickly as a 300 and sixty 5 days, the vet will draw blood. there is alot extra to the well-being of a canine than eating, pooping and peeing.

The best worm medicine you can get is from your vet & it is not expensive. I would not give your dog worm medicine bought off the shelves at the stores. Half do not work & you'll just be wasteing your $$!!!

Tapeworm. You need to treat for fleas and get a tapewormer. Over the counter it is called "Tradewinds" and is the same as Droncit from the vet. Comes in tablets and goes by weight, dosage on the bottle.
