My commentaries state: "Did God cause David to Sin? God does not cause people to sin, but he does allow sinners to reveal the sinfulness of their hearts by their actions. God presented the opportunity to David in order to deal with a disastrous national tendency, and he wanted this desire to show itself. First Chronicles 21:1 says Satan incited David to do it. Hebrew writers do not always distinguish between primary and secondary causes. So if God allowed Satan to tempt David, to them, it is as if God did it."
Makes sense to me.

The Bible is a collection of premodern myths with almost nothing to do with early Christianity. There are literally thousands of blatant errors and contradictions.
Don't sweat one -- recognize its myth, and if you are Christian learn to base your faith only on the creed and on love for one another. Those things, plus Eucharist are all you need, and all you should have. The use of the Bible as a "truth sink" is simply idolatry.

God bestows evil consequences upon evil actions ("you reap what you sow"). In any given case, He has many different possibilities of evil consequences to choose from. He chooses what kind of evil to bestow, and when to bestow it, according to His wisdom and plan. He orchestrates His actions to keep all of His commitments. For example, when He visits judgement upon Jerusalem, He manages it such that the righteous are preserved.
God is angry with Israel's sin (and David's handling of the royal family issues).
Satan sees his opportunity, accuses them of wrongdoing, and wins approval to inflict David's and Israel's wrongdoing back on themselves.
God, knowing that the punishment is well deserved, that the example of correction/contrition on David's part will be recorded in Scripture forever as an example, and that He will be gracious 'ahead of schedule' and reveal the site of his temple/crucifixion, agrees to turn David and Israel over to him, for this specific punishment ( I Cor 5.5).
Satan, with this permission from God, moves David to begin the Census.

Well if you believe in the Bible then you belive everything is accurate. If you think the writings in the Bible are confused, then you need to question every verse.

The bible is a book. It is inanimate and has no mental abilities including the ability to "get confused".
Confusion is what happens in the unenlightened intellect of man.

No, the Bible isn't confused.
Its readers get confused.
For this one, think "ying and yang."
Moved is not the same as prompted in Hebrew.

No, no confusion. You're taking the verses out of context.
