I totally dont like family reunions.Especially because your aunts and uncles think that its "look" tax free day!! Look how big youve grown[as if I was an oak or something, lol] Look at how she did her hair, she is growing up to fast and all the other looks and whys.I think the whys are the worse.
Anyway to answer your question my sisters and I have this strategy that we employ and it has us laughing through the entire reunion. You may think it mean but well.... What my sis and I do is sit at strategic locations where we can observe EVERYONE and then makeup stories about the family members and pretend we are writing the script in their life.
You may think this childish, but it actually is alot of fun.You would be surprised what your imagination can do when your mind is BORED!
Anyways tell Aunty Polly that WE know she had botox even tho she denied it and please tell uncle Frank--Do not do the robot it absolutely does not look good when you are 70 and doing it and worse yet when you have to borrow your 23year old gf legs to do it on.
Have fun

WINTER!!!! Personally, I hate Summer (aside from the fact that it's when our school vacation starts). And the two-week winterbreak from school. And I also find Christmas songs relaxing and relieving of stress. I also like wearing scarves. What I hate about it is--when I was in the Philippines we encountered quite a handful of men drinking and walking in the middle of the road. Also that it's when suicide is at it's peak because people become depressed expecting something good in their life during Christmas. It's nice to have parties and self-indulgence sometime but not for such long durations else it'll leave you being depressed afterwards because you have to go back to work when it's done. And I guess that's it.

Bring a game with you. Or maybe try and get to know some of your cousins, your Aunts and Uncles, and listen to there stories. Someday you will look back at these reunions, and say Oh! I remember when? Life goes by so fast and before you know it many of the relatives are gone, and then its too late . So bare with it, put a little of your heart into going to the reunion, and having fun.

Take a little time and try to catch up with people.
Try to snag some time with one of the really old ones and get some information on family history way back... really interesting sometimes. You will regret missing out on those later on.
At the very least, stand up and greet people with a handshake before going back to your book or game.
If you have the ability to leave, then at least put in the cursory couple of hours face time, then tell them you have to go to work.

Take a book or hand game. Or what about meeting and talking with some of your relatives. Who knows, you might meet a new family member and be friends for life. Give it a try.
