REALLY ALL I AM ASKING is if you bought one, how much did you ACTUALLY wind up paying. I know about negotioations, I know about list price, I know there are other cars out there to consider. I asked this question to help find out how much I could EXPECT to buy one for versas the list price. because the fact is some people just pay too much for a vehicle and some people pay reasonable prices through skill of negotiation. This yahooanswers question was to help me AND EVERYONE WHO READS THIS in my quest to get the best posible price in the end. Thank you all for your answers though. but all the intent was is to just get the best price not info on other cars or negotion tactic advice.

I got all of the most expensive equiptment (manual) for my son and ended up paying 15,895 INCLUDING tax. pretty slow though. I'd reccomend a VW Rabbit or Golf.

With everything on it except sunroof and sport package mine listed at just a smidge over $17K. These cars are selling well, but you should be able to negotiate off $500 or a low finance rate if they know you'll shop them.

My Versa has knocked our socks off with how much you get for that price. Quiet, solid, high quality materials. Our gas mileage has been just under 30 in mixed driving with A/C going all the time due to the July-Aug. heat.

ps: the guy Hakim who posted above has said in previous posts he owns a Honda, Toyota and Cadillac among other cars, so he knows nothing about Versas.

I would NEVER get a VW! You're better of walking instead. Those break all the time and they are one of the most expensive cars to get fixed. I would listen to the guy that talks about shopping around. If a dealer knows you 'll go somewhere else they'll usually give you a better deal.

I paid 15,900 for a CVT hatchback but with no extras to speak of early in the year. There were not many CVTs around in my area then - I had to test drive a CVT sedan, and then look at a standard shift hatchback.
Then they brought mine in from another dealer.
