hey im an athiest and ive been interested in chrisianity im just wondering though why dont they get along?

Roman Catholics have been trying to kill those who disagree with them for hundreds of years.
Why? Because the RCC is a false religion who stopped following Jesus long ago. The leaders of the RCC are more of a political organization today and for at least the last thousand years.
Jesus said you will know my true disciples by their love for one another.
The RCC proves, by that passage that they are fakes.

Simply because Protestants never stop attacking the Catholic Church. If they'd only stop then we can get along. We get along with evangelicals because they respect our beliefs. Pentecostals and Fundamentalists are really to blame. They act as if they know more about the Catholic faith than we do.
Do you want proof? Just take a look at what the guy above me says about us.

A lot of Protestants think that Catholics are worshipping idols and false prophets when Catholics pray to the Saints.

Most Catholics and Protestants (and Jews and Muslims and Atheists) get along just fine.
Unfortunately a few extremists in each group (including Atheists) cause trouble for the other groups.
It would be best if each group did their best to control their own extremists.

All Christian people SHOULD get along. Jesus didn't die for us to disagree about the one true religion. The problem is people have to interpret God's word for themselves. Catholics translated that Peter was the "rock" and by him all would be judged. That led to the Pope, and the Catholic religion. Catholics believe that you have to confess their sins to a priest, who will give a repentance, and your sins will be forgiven.
Protestants believe that the only way to the Father, God, is through the Son, Jesus. When Protestants pray, it is a direct line to God. They do not pray to Mother Mary. They also believe that only through Jesus can sins be forgiven.
Basically, the Bible says that if you confess you are a sinner, and that Jesus is Lord, and invite him into your life, you are a Christian. That's it. It doesn't say you have to become a Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, etc.

As you can see in this forum, catholic don't get involved many controversial questions. it always extreme Protestants who throw the rocks for example catholic don't read the bible, they want to control Christianity, Nazi, to say religion is bad word, Catholic beliefs are divided, they have idols or worship Gods, Protestants talk bad about Mary our mother, we worship Mary more then Jesus, Catholic are evil, worship the saints, denomination is bad word, and ext. I think we catholic should talk more about our faith and God. Plus, give more information about our faith so that truth may come out and stop this misunderstanding between us.

As far as most Catholics are concerned, the door is open.
As long as some fundamentalists and evangelicals persist in calling the Church a "false religion who stopped following Jesus long ago", it is their hands slamming the door shut.

Because they spent the better part of 200 years burning each other at the stake, cutting off heads, hanging drawing & quartering, and stealing from each other

Because we are allowed to think and question and they aren't.
Now think about that. THEY CAN'T QUESTION.
It's a serious violation of the RULES to question.
It's ILLEGAL to think for yourself.
