not to be a smart *** but yes we have weapons, technology, and all that good stuff and we aint done yet!!!
and the movie is based on a true story!
it was all because of their tactics of using that norrow pass, their fearless fighting skills,
but iraq is a whole new game!!!
like hide and seek!!!

didnt you hear or see what was goin on at gitmo?!!!
i used to be stationed at gitmo, went awoll once cause my girlfreind was pregnat with my kid{ at least i think it was my kid!!}
i got 6 months hard labor there after i went home and seen my kid went back and turned myself in!!
thats one rough place to do time and i wasnt tortured just some friggin very hard hot long work!!
they didnt give me the emergency leave i asked for!

roosevelt rhoodes puert rico was my duty station for a while after the captainst mass the give me a free ride on a cargo miltary hop to enjoy my new duty station for 6 months , back in the 70 s military personell did time there!!!

well i was the mp that when things got out a hand and you drunken jarheads and grunts would get out a line on base at the base lounge i would be the one to come and club ya all in the head with my billyclub and saw that ya got a good nights sleep!!!

if one of you jarheads didnt throw someone through a plate glass window at the lounge one night and killed him, well i was the one that brought him in!!!

the admiral that was in charge there at my time was nimitz, hes the one that pulled me over whike i was riding my bike on base one day and gave a citation for not shavind, even though i had a no shave chit i was busted and put on guard duty!!!

If you consider the fact that a country with tanks, helicopters, and total air superiority is trying to do just that right now and is hardly making any progress, then the answer should very clearly be "no". Just because the Spartans had extremely high pain thresholds, does not mean that being shot in the head a few times would not have killed them.

About a thousand years ago the Crusaders fought the Arabs. They were the state-of-the-art army of their time. They were beaten using the same tactics used today. No pitched battles. Poison the water. Attack small patrols and groups. Attack supply caravans. Force the troops to live in forts. Persist until those back home tire of the end of the flow of treasure and the abundance of body-bags. What's old is new, and what's new is old.

I give you two answers my friend . I am not going to knock you down .This constructive critism .
In the world of character sheilded heroes the 300 could do it .
Examples of character sheilded heros are RSK (ripped shirt Kirk) who never lost a fight if his shirt got ripped in the orginal star trek series .
Chuck Norriss who's kicks can cause a tornado .
The infamous single ninja who can take down a battalion of armed soldiers by himself .(the rule with ninjas is if you have a lot of them they suck and a poodel with bad teeth can kill them , but if you have 1 ninja there invinsible )
These are examples of character sheilds and as delightful as they are in the make believe world they do not hold up under our real life world .
So in a real life engagment the 300 would get there @ss kicked. It would be a great story tho . write it as a fanfic .In the world of fantasy the 300 would pacify Iraq

It could be good as a "psy ops" kind of thing. Just image: 300 guys in leather briefs that prominently highlight their "packages." That is something that could seriously unbalance any Muslim fundamentalist!
If George W. Bush would be one of the guy in leather briefs fighting (as was King Leonidas in the movie) it would be even better. I can just imagine him now, kicking some wussy ambassador down a well, yelling, "This is America!" in his fake Texan twang. Dick Cheney would be behind him, spearing someone in the face. Osama bin Ladin can make a cameo appearance in the role of King Xerxes--I can just imagine him as a tall drag queen.

Of course 300 swords and spears against AK Armed Iraqis it would be over very quick, there would be 300 soggy wet lumps of flesh lying on the ground, all dead!!
And possible a few dead Iraqis who died laughing.
Kindly explain how you got your *** out of "Gitmo" with no pass? All incoming and out going personel are double checked. I think we have another "Wannabeasoljur" here.
There are no US military serving time in Gitmo as prisoners sonny! not even "hard labour".

Probably. I know that the Ancient Romans from over 2000 years ago could (even with swords) still kick most modern Third-World countrys down. Tactical genius and balls would've done it. I belive that they would take their homeland back and even beat the Italians.

Hell Yeah, ONLY as long as they didn't have to suffer under the contorl or the Geneva Conventions as we do today. About 98% of the tactics they used to fight (and win) wars back then, would be illegal today under the Geneva Conventions.
