Yes - he's a complete hypocritical self important politician. His whole "Inconvenient Truth" thing was just to annoy George Bush - his "ranch" that they kept showing on the film (which by the way used about EVERY propaganda technique in the book) uses something like the same amount of energy as some 13 standard houses. He's very stupid, is the answer to your question.
Random note: did you know that George Bush rearranged spells "he bugs Gore" - cool huh!

Algore's family fortunes are from their holdings in Occidental Petroleum Company. He is just going around raising fear to boost his personal profits.
Have you seen what has happened to the price of gas since he's been "working" on the environment?
Why do people believe anyone who has made their fortunes in big oil?

When a global warming denier brings up Al Gore he is simply admitting that he has no credible scientific arguments.

I've never had a high opinion of him, but he seems to hold some kind of sexual attraction for all the Beavis and Butthead types, because they can't stop posting about him.

He's not stupid. He looks devilish and untrustworthy. He's making money everywhere.
He's not promoting green for free. He makes lots of money from the company that wants to you to go green.
He makes a movie (Inconvenient Truth) to give people fear. Fear sells. He's telling you the world will end unless you buy products he promotes.
