America is the land of the free including thinking what ever you want even if you find it offensive.
May be you can tell me what is wrong with this question:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AprPRnhvyTrIgBHrMYVFAUPty6IX?qid=20070803192800AA1BhcY&show=7#profile-info-UliZRcqPaa does it make you feel ashamed when Muslims bash your country for things that occured in the past to try and prove how tolerant Islam is?

This is NOT a Muslim country, so when all of you decided to come to live here, you knew what you were getting into. If I travel to a Muslim country, I'll be forced to cover myself, wear a scarf to cover my hair, I cannot drink any alcoholic beverage because you don't, so your people wont get offended!! BUT you people can come here and dare to try to change OUR way of life according to your beliefs!!
With all the respect that you deserve but don't show, I'm very sorry, but the guy was right. If we have to behave the Muslim way in a Muslim country, THIS IS AMERICA, not a Muslim country, you knew it!! IT'S NOT ABOUT HATE, it's about the respect WE deserve because this is OUR country. So it's "our way or the highway", bye, bye....

You are missing the point.
My great grandparents came from Ireland to America. They were Americans FIRST and their faith was second. They had very strong faith, but didn't expect the rest of the country to adopt all of their thoughts and ideas to serve themselves.
Too many Muslims believe that the rest of us have to cater to what they believe. No - wrong. Anyone coming to America HAS TO be American and to be part of diversity - what many Muslims do is seperate themselves from that diversity.
Georgia Peach was right - if ANYONE of ANY FAITH comes to America, then they must remember we are a diverse nation - and if they cannot accept that, they need to return to their country of origin.
How can I celebrate the diversity Muslims bring when they refuse to share it with us and insist we change to meet their needs? It's a two way street, my friend.

It is the duty of all religions to convert the whole world. If you would truly study all religions and the lives and letters of their chief leaders you will be able to understand why some people here react the way they do.

I like Muslims. I don't like Islam.
Most people are decent, no matter what superstitoins they've fallen for. Those superstitions can be harmful, though.
