Yes... my sister is going into 8th grade at a public middle school in Saint Paul, MN.... her core classes (science, math, english, history) are separated by gender, and apparently the teachers at her school are praising the switch to the segregated classes, noting that the concentration levels - of both genders - is way above what it used to be.

i've read that they do get good results. i can see the benefits of it: students can learn in an environment that is more suited to them and where they feel less sexual pressure. however, i worry about what will happen to those students in the "real" world. are boys being taught that they can't/don't have to work with girls if they don't want to? are girls not exposed to the kind of competition that still exists in many "masculine"-oriented fields? it'll be more interesting to see what kind of studies are done on those kids once they get older.

I've heard they get better results, fewer pregnancies, and a lot more gays and lesbians upon graduation.
Cuts down on population growth, so I'm for it, generally, since something needs to.

Yep. I saw something on television a few years ago about it. I think it was LA or somewhere else. They had to fight the courts though.
