Hi there!

I think it comes from ceilí, the Irish word for 'party?' It's similar in Scottish Gaelic, ceileagan, pronounced similarly but written differently.

Best wishes,

C.s.

Unfortunately, you have a name whose Irish (Gaelic) meaning is impossible to verify.

One possibility, and only a possibility, I found on the Internet is one that has already been mentioned. Please see below:

Part of the problem is that Kaylee is an American-Irish name and not an Irish-Irish name. There is a difference. Some other American-Irish girls' names names are Colleen, Shannon, Shauna, Kelly and Kerri.

Ireland has been historically a very religious, very Catholic country - largely because they were up against the English who embraced Protestantism. Most children in Irleand are given Catholic Christian names, often those of saints in the Catholic church. The meanings of these types of names can usually be verified.
However, with secular names found among Irish descendants living outside of Ireland, it's more problematic.

Below is a web site displaying names that you are most likely to encounter in Ireland:

The girl's name Kaylee \ka(y)-lee\ is pronounced KAY-lee. Possibly (Gaelic) "slender". Variant of Kayla with the popular -ley ending, much favored in spelling variants. May also be considered a combination of Kay with Lee.
