That's what doctors do.

There's a difference in the belief that when we die we are free from pain and present with God, and being in a hurry to get there. Most Christians affirm life and affirm that to live life to the fullest is what God wants for all people. When you look at the history of Christianity, the appeal of heaven has been strongest in those whose earthly lives have been filled with struggle, like the poor, or slaves.

Even Christians, who genuinely believe that they are going to paradise when they die, still value long life on Earth. There are many opportunities to serve others, bring others to Christ, and Christians value the relationships they have here. If a person is going to hell, then you make a good point. It would be a good idea to keep them alive; one of those reasons being the possibility that they might come to Christ later on. Doesn't the nature of things show that life is worth fighting for?

Have a star. Interesting question, honest and straightforward. I agree with you so much. Thank you for writing your question. The god of christians is just an extension of the old appeasement/reward gods. Sacrifice of one for another makes sense in a theological script but no sense in real life. I have the feeling deep down that Jesus was against the appeasement-god ideas and wanted to spread forgiveness and common sense. The Cross wasn't in his Plan, you bet.

I believe that we are created with the inherent notion of wanting to live no matter what. Even if heaven awaits on the other side, leaving those behind whom we have established relationships with here is painful. It's just a basic human reaction.

Life on earth has always been protected and cared for. God put us on this earth to live and enjoy it. As Paul had noted, he knew that death would bring him home to the Lord, but he had no problem staying to minister to the ones he loved.

Don't know, especially if they're Christian doctors, meaning that they'e completly hypocritical now ain't they? "Oh but A.A., what if it's not their time to go?" Christians may say, well I say, "Well then why did God let that happen then?" Doctors are there to save peoples lives, no matter what. End of story.

Its better for one to be in a position where they still have a chance to repent and later go when ready than to go straighaway only to get a shock.

It is the nature of humankind to survive, to live. We were originally not design to die, but to live everlastingly. In addition, when we die, we cease to exist unless we are remembered by our Creator after Armageddon.

Life is precious. We are here to learn and to grow...and every minute we have to do so is sacred. Heaven will be there when it is our time...until then the test goes on.
