So if we all did not believe in God unless He appeared to us then what would be the point of our stay on earth. Faith is what is important as Jesus told Thomas of all those that would come after him and believe without seeing our Lord and touching His wounds. His revelation is in the Bible and the goodness we see here on earth. When we have been called to heaven is when we will see our God.

I agree with you, Rove, you need evidence:
I was an atheist for several decades. Hypocrisy within the church is reason enough to keep one out of Church. But, if someone could prove to me God really existed, I knew I would serve Him unflinchingly.
I offered a prayer that if He would reveal Himself to me, I'd never tell a lie to teach a church doctrine--too many preachers blowin' a different melody on the Gospel trumpet.
He directed me straight to His Word, and a study of History. Yes, you will be amazed at at the rich harvest awaiting you, Rove.
His word is much deeper than you can ever imagine, and yes, it is an encoded Book that reveals the plan to save this world.
Much that I speak of is described in an On-line publication at www.revelado.org/revealed.htm.
After the Bible Code reveals to you who your Creator is, then the world will take on a completely different light. When I see a beautifully colored hummingbird drink succulent nectar from a splendidly painted flower, it attests of God's love. When the sky-blue butterfly flutters through the sunshine, or a toucan or macaw call from the trees, or snatch a banana from my tree, it speaks of a wonderful Creator who will again restore this planet to its original design, and you can be a part of it.
I would be honored to answer any questions you have about the Bible by e-mail.
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

I asked the same question many times, and I still don't have an answer. I looked for it by asking people (religious and non-religious) and studying up on things, comparing and contrasting. So that is why I am agnostic. The belief in God has caused a lot of problems, too many poor excuses, faulty reasoning, etc. That is why I don't believe in one.
You can't say something exists until it has been proven to exist. That is like selling someone a house that doesn't exist. Who wants to buy an invisible house? No one. Don't get suckered, just like how someone would feel after they spent money on an invisible non-existent home. Demand proof before you buy it, whether it's a house or a religion. I am not saying that because something is invisible it doesn't exist, because gravity is invisible but it exists, love is invisible but it exists. The problem is that we don't what God is really, so unlike gravity or love it's hard to define God and therefore recognize.
If I were to tell someone that God exists, I would be unsure of what I said to them, because I don't really know if one exists or not or even what God is. I have read a lot of different books and talked with different religious people about what God is and sometimes they say different things and sometimes the same (Some say God is love, others energy, others the subconscious mind, etc). So it makes me wonder if religious people really know what God is better than others or not. The best I could say is, God may or may not exist, but I am not sure.
I have also been told to go with faith, but isn't logic a better tool to use for life than faith? Faith might help in some areas like having the courage to do something (which I believe is why some religious people are more courageous to do things than other non-religious groups), but logic will help in a lot of other areas in life. Logic to me is more reliable but boring while faith is sometimes less reliable but more exciting. If it weren't for logic most things would probably not work right such as a car. Logic will also help answer a lot of other questions instead of using faith which is sometimes blind and hard to gauge. It could also be a combination of faith and logic that will help a lot in life. For situations where you can't calculate an answer or analyze it right away, it is usually best to go with your gut feeling. Don't let (pride/doubt) get in the way of going with your gut feelings which are usually, if not always, right. I have learned this the hard way. By listening to my pride instead of my gut, and although it is difficult to know if going with the gut would have been better since we didn't actually go with it in the first place, I would say that with hindsight that it would have probably been better to have followed what my gut felt. However, I now know better to go with my gut feeling and not my false pride.
I think I got my point across with the invisible house example, though.
A last piece of advice, which I also tell myself, is: "Things are true or exist regardless of what you think, read in a book, or what others may tell you." The earth is not flat, even though some people thought it was in the past, simply because of a lack of knowledge. Dogs exist regardless of whether we think they do or not. The planets rotate around the sun and not around the earth even though people wrongly thought it did. The sun exists regardless of whether it says it in a book or not. Also, oceans exist whether we think it's there or not.
That last piece of advice usually gives me a lot more peace of mind and also a better sense of reality than what someone else says, or what I may falsely believe to be true, or what is written in some book.

Let me try here....... ok, God does reveal himself, just NOT the way he did in Biblical times, and even starting about Romans , you will notice the miracles and things began to lessen ...... and one reason, or maybe THE reason is, God was dealing with the Jewish nation, and they were a nation of , *have to see* or signs........ so God gave them what they needed and wanted to believe..... they were his chosen people..... so he gave and gave...... today God is dealing with the Gentiles...... I do NOT know just why God chooses to reveal in more subtle ways..... and as for the WHY you should believe ???? I can only say, that as for me, I can NOT live without God and Jesus as my savior..... I get through a lot of things, I do NOT think I could, if I did not have God...... I have seen and heard things that only can be explained by and in faith......... I have a peace that I would NOT have otherwise.............. *sigh*........ and let me make this very clear !!! religion, faith, church, beliefs were NOT pushed down my throat............. the Holy Spirit lead me down the path I am walking.......... NOT A HUMAN !!!! not even my parents !!!!!!! God bless

Do the following:
Don't believe. Get rid of belief, religion, etc.
What do you imagine exists? Just imagine. NOT believe.
Now, what are you going to do? Ignore that?
Stop others from imagining? Stop others from gathering together because they imagine the same thing?
That's all it is. It isn't meant to be "proof" or cause for "blind faith". Its the exploration of the universe BEYOND logic, beyond science. When science discovers more, some will change their beliefs to match, just as sun worshipers have adapted, or lightning worshipers.
God doesn't owe us to reveal himself.
It's man who is desperately trying to please God.
We got kicked out for eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
We still eat of it, if you really understand that parable.
Why would he show himself to people who do that?

I completely agree with you that blind faith is not a good enough reason. I have a problem with those old hymns that say, "You ask me how I know He lives...He lives within my heart." Well, so does my dead grandmother, but that doesn't make her alive for anyone else.
You don't see the wind. You see what it does. You don't see God. You see what He does. Then you make the choice to believe whether what happened was the result of God or the wind or something else.

If your blind in spirit how and why would he reveal himself to you .Open your spritual eye's and ask him to send you peace .There is no blind faith when you have faith you have the light to see,Christ is that light and the peace and it is given freely to all WHO ask,it is up to us GOD will not force himself on you .That's why were here, to make up our mind's who we believe in and follow .You can't force someone to love you that's not how it work's .Some place's in the bible it talk's about the dead this is spritual death you must rise above the flesh and let your spirit lead you .

My belief is that he has revealed himself, all throughout history.
I don't believe you should believe anything. What you believe is independent of any reality.
Peoples belief that the sky is blue is independent of the fact that the sky has no true color. Just wavelengths of light passing through it, altered by the gasses contained within. What you can try to do is honestly look at what is claimed to be those moments of revelation and judge for yourself. Key point is honesty.

He dosn't reveal himself because he doesn't exist. Can you imagine how many gods would be running around if they were all real? No wonder there are so many wars over this because no one can proove without a doubt the existence of a god, but they all want you to believe in theirs (forget prophets ect).
You shouldn't believe in God, instead believe in yourself and live your life well. Work towards a better future for all.
