Personally, on the street next to Joe's, I always seem to find a good spot. It's like I am blessed and someone just waits for me to show up and leaves me a space.

Where to Park

Santa Barbara's Downtown Public Parking Lots offer convenient access to Downtown, Old Town, and Waterfront businesses. Conveniently located throughout the downtown are pedestrian Paseos which link the parking lots to State Street and the surrounding area!

Depends on whether you are going there to shop, walk, take the trolley, visit the Hot Dog Man or see the parade. Joe's Cafe is a good suggestion. All the side streets have parking even around the mission.

i live in santa barbara and state street is very long... but the paseo nuevo mall, theres a parking lot behind it and for 75 minutes its free, any additional time isnt that much... or you can just stroll through state street and look for places... but it does take some time since downtown santa barbara is very busy... just actually went shopping today in downtown... theres lots of shop and stores from saks fifth ave to nordstrom and many more... i hope you enjoy santa barbara.
