I have been exploring the issue of abortion and would like to know about how it applies to when it would result in saving the life of the mother. I assure you this is a sincere question.

Seeing that the child would need to be removed from the womb whether it is alive or not, does it still make sense that a child would have to lose it's life in order for the mother to retain hers? It seems that performing a C-section would be a way to preserve the life of both mother and child.

Medical professionals are preferred but not necessarily required. If you do work in the medical field, please state your qualifications. This is a clinical question and not a debate on the issue of abortion.

certainly a c-section can be done, however, whether or not the child survives depends in large part on how many months of gestation it is. If the mom is less than seven months pregnant, it is unlikely the fetus would survive.

I am a doctor and anaesthetist.
It is not very clear what you want to know. But if doctors can save any one of the mother and the child, they prefer to save the mother. There are many reasons for this.
