By age 3 if he can ask please let him know that his dad did something that was not right and he had to be put where people who do wrong go to.Pray every night with him about his dad to become a better person than what he is.He might not understand at that age exactly what a pedophile is.By age 16 it will be easier to understand what a pedophile is and ask him to pray to God that his dad has learned anything from that conviction.Help him understand what a pedophile is,and understand that God has held him responsible for his actions and not to be mad or hurt by this and that he himself will not follow in his footsteps.Remember prayer changes things.Don't worry yourself to death about this because you may have not known this about him, or even if you did know we make mistakes everyday.God do forgives us for our sins but we must do everything in our power to make a better life for our children and ourselves.Live life and love every minute of.God bless you and your child .

I worked with a girl who had the same exact situation. she told her child she didn't know who the father was, for the simple reason being, children don't see things like an adult will. they think I am half Mommy, and half Daddy... if Daddy is BAD then I must be BAD too

my best friend got pregnant by her stepfather at 10 so that's easy. tell the truth and say he was really bad and touched children wrong. later you can explain it further. i wouldn't be nice about it at all and her stepfather had aids. thank god, she doesnt. so no, be upfront and calm but not nice about it.

That's a kinda sneaky thing to ask. For me, I never really know what I'm going to say to someone until it's time to say something.
